HomeFront Help is Operation Child Care Project’s innovative program designed to close the child care gap for military families. By training and supporting trusted local “Helpers,” we make safe, flexible care options available when families need them most, whether it’s emergency, ad hoc, or part-time care. With HomeFront Help, families gain peace of mind and stronger communities.

Where is HomeFront Help?

For Families

At OCCP, we know how important safe, reliable child care is especially for military families navigating deployments, trainings, or unpredictable schedules. HomeFront Helpers are community caregivers who have gone through enhanced training and background checks so you can feel confident in their care.

Every helper is equipped with:
CPR & First Aid certification
Infant safe sleep practices
Emergency & disaster preparedness training
Awareness of bias and inclusion in child care
Child abuse prevention and reporting training

For Helpers

Helpers are local caregivers, military spouses, and community members who want to help local military families. Through OCCP’s weekend training cohort, Helpers receive stipends to complete enhanced training, certifications, and background checks, elevating their skills and credibility as trusted caregivers.

Every helper is equipped with:

Child development and inclusion awareness
Safety and emergency response training
Ongoing support, education, and resources
