Who We Help

At Operation Child Care Project, we serve the families who serve our country. Military and veteran parents face unique challenges like frequent moves, deployments, and limited local support that make accessing reliable child care especially difficult. We’re here to make sure no family has to choose between their duty and their children’s well-being.

Military Families

We provide personalized support to active-duty and veteran families facing childcare challenges. Our case management team works one-on-one with your family to assess needs, map out solutions, and guide you through military benefits and local resources. We help you understand and apply for subsidies, coordinate with on-base and off-base programs, and stay in contact to adjust plans if your situation changes.

Caregivers & Helpers

Our HomeFront Help program invites community members—especially military spouses—to become trained child care providers for military families. We cover all training costs (including a criminal background check, adult and pediatric CPR/First-Aid certification, etc.) and provide a $250 stipend for completing the program. In a weekend-long cohort you’ll receive 40 hours of hands-on training, special-needs support, and guidance in starting your own childcare services.

Community Partners

We collaborate with child care centers, nonprofits, and local organizations to expand support for military parents. Partner centers can utilize our HomeFront Helpers as vetted substitute staff when they experience staffing shortages. This provides immediate staffing relief for providers and more care options for families. Nonprofit groups and community organizations can collaborate by sharing resources or co-hosting events and workshops that address the needs of military families.

Supporters & Donors

Your financial support directly fuels OCCP’s work. Donations enable our case managers to act quickly in emergencies and extend programs to more families.
