Are You Using the Child Care in Your Home (CCYH) Program?

Here is the update: It is moving in house. If you are currently using this program, you should have received an email notifying you about the upcoming shift to militarychildcare.com. If it went to your spam (or you used a DoD email address that you can't access right now), here is the rundown.

What does this mean?

We don't know exactly; we will follow the team's updates as they are rolled out. This is the first time a child care program of this funding type has made a move like this in quite some time. Since each branch gets to decide how their fee assistance programs (MCCYN, MCCYN+, CCYH, Weekend Drill Care) are administered, there has been a slightly fragmented approach to management. The rules are somewhat different for everyone, leading to confusion and frustration. This move will shift ALL service members, regardless of branch, utilizing the CCYH program to the same system.

What we do know is that Navy families have been using the Military Child Care (or MCC) system for their fee assistance program for around three years. Navy families have consistently entered our case management system at the lowest numbers of any branch. These families are reporting high satisfaction rates with the assistance they receive and express confidence in support. We are excited to see if this program follows suit.

If you are a current family utilizing the CCYH Program

Keep an eye on your email for that welcome letter from MCC. Your October attendance sheet will be the last attendance sheet submitted to Child Care Aware of America (CCAoA). If you do not receive any communications about transitioning your account to MCC from CCAoA by the end of September, please reach out to FamilySupport@MilitaryChildCare.com.

If you are a family who WANTS to utilize the CCYH Program

Ensure you are in an eligible location to participate. You will continue to apply to the program through your militarychildcare.com account. Please note that the program has very limited slots. We are seeing families at priority levels 1B.2 and above access this program nationwide, with a handful at 1B.3 and 1B.4. As always; we encourage you to sign up if the program fits your needs regardless of the waitlist; demand drives supply.

Our newsletter will send future updates on this program shift. For education and support, please contact case management.
